Accredited with Surfing Australia and the Australian Sports Commission, Surf Retreat coaches will teach you surf safety, paddling, board handling and get you up and surfing or SUPing in a few lessons. The retreat takes absolute beginners to intermediate surfers and have a range of board sizes and designs you can try to ensure you learn what’s best for your level.
The Surf Retreat concept is a low key weekend away with your mates, like minded women who either want to learn to surf, improve their surf skills or just have loads of fun.

At typical weekend agenda looks like:
- Friday afternoon/evening starts with a meet and great and then is spent starting to unwind with some great food & a chat about the fun weekend ahead.
- Saturday morning includes a light brekkie & off for your Surf Lesson, which runs for 2-3 hours depending on conditions & include the basics to get you to your feet. Mid morning/lunchtime is time to relax with some yummy refreshments, view some photos/videos from the morning session and reflect on that first wave you caught or your first wipeout!
- Saturday afternoon is time to hit the yoga mat to stretch out those tired muscles, followed by a casual Saturday night down around the fire pit with food, drinks and lots of laughs. After breakfast, Sunday morning is spent back in the ocean for a 2nd Surf Lesson where your surfing skills start to shine!
- Sunday lunchtime, the retreat raps up, giving you time to explore the local area and perhaps reflect on a fun weekend at the gorgeous Milk Haus cafe in Woodstock.
Accommodation
The Retreat is based at beautiful Mollymook Beach, in a comfortable, fully renovated 60’s beach cottage called “The Retro Retreat”.
