At Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat, you will stay in a treehouse or a villa-treehouse among stunning rainforest scenery. The 93 acre property has over 9 kilometres of walking tracks, allowing you to birdwatch for over 160 bird species, discover platypus in our pristine rainforest creeks, see the colourful parrots and the smallest kangaroo. The Retreat accommodation ranges from studio treehouses for couples; 2 bedroom treehouses & villa-treehouses cater for up to 4 to 6 guests; and a 3 bedroom villa-treehouse for up to 6 guests. All accommodation features private balcony with World Heritage mountain or rainforest views, self-contained fully equipped kitchen, king size bed, wood burning fireplace and a large complimentary breakfast hamper on the first morning. Rose Gums is a self catering retreat so it is recommended that supplies are brought from home or local supermarkets in Malanda or Yungburra.

Internationally acclaimed wildlife photographer Juergen (Yogi) Freund offers in-depth and personalised photo workshops in the best natural locations around the Atherton Tablelands and now including Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat. With experience of more than 30 years of well-published photographic work, Juergen teaches the craft to small groups – offering focused and hands on photographic tuition, no matter at what level of knowledge. This enriching learning experience will be put into practice immediately in the stunning locations around Rose Gums, making the best images as well as taking home unforgettable memories.
